What Kinds Of T Shirts Do The Christian Bands Like
As there is a seemingly-limitless range of Christian music genres, one might wonder what styles of Christian t-shirts the artists themselves like to wear. Does their apparel reflect the same message they give from their music? and do they wear the same kinds of t-shirts in their everyday lives as they wear when they are performing on stage for their audiences? The t-shirt styles chosen by the musicians both who they are and the message they wish to convey; and many have a rather interesting range of preferences.
Kim Jones, one of the lead singers in the Christian band called “Road to Revelation” generally prefers modest, ladylike attire when performing. In one of Road to Revelation's recent tours in Dothan, Alabama, Miss Jones sported a bright t-shirt with the “Colors 4 the Cross” Bikers for Christ design. In their onstage performance, her husband Brian Jones wore a similarly-designed t-shirt. This was a good example of one way in which Christian bands can best interact with their fans, so the musicians and fans alike all know that there are no divisions in “spreading the word.” Something as basic as Kim and Brian's t-shirts gave them the opportunity to interact offstage with their audience.
Many of the bands who are in the more modern categories of Christian rock have a similar pattern. Although it is most understood by fans of those particular genres, many bands who spreads the message by way of heavy metal and other similar forms prefer plain black t-shirts and sleeveless shirts that also leave their numerous tattoos visible. Their unusual attire does not distract their audiences from their Christian lyrics, but rather assists the fans in identifying with them.
Although t-shirt manufacturers and concerts sell t-shirts emblazoned with the names of bands, it is rare to see Christian bands performing in these styles. It seems the bands know that the purpose is not to promote themselves, that they have a much more important purpose than gaining publicity for themselves.
What is often popular, however, are the more “generic” styles of t-shirts-- again, designed to promote the message rather than the musician. When a musician wears a t-shirt that says “Created to Worship: I Play For an Audience of One,” he is showing his fans what is true priority is with his music. The t-shirt design that states “He Reigns,” is another positive message from the Christian band called the Newsboys.
The t-shirts preferred by many Christian bands have a dual purpose: to identify with their audiences, and to state their faith in the most positive way.
