Why Bands Wear Christian T Shirts

Taking a walk back through time to the late 'sixties, the youth of that era learned that a good, original way to get one's message across to others was to wear it on their t-shirts. Generations later it may no longer be original but it is still good-- if you want people to know without a doubt what you think and what you believe in, all you really need to do is wear it on your t-shirt! If you wish to make certain that everyone you meet will know of your faith in the Lord, there are endless numbers of designs which will clearly convey this message. Whether it is a brief, directly-to-the-point statement, or a beautiful quote from the Scriptures-- when printed on a t-shirt, the message speaks to everyone who sees and reads it.

While this is a fact for everyone, it is even more effective for Christian bands. Any person can declare his or her faith by wearing these t-shirts, but when Christian bands and musicians wear them, the statements they make are a clear influence upon their young fans. Whether the bands are performing at large Christian music festivals or making recordings for their latest albums, surely they know their fans are paying close attention to every detail. A popular musician stating “Jesus Is Lord” on his t-shirt has a double-effect on his fans-- first, they will wish to learn more; and second, in seeing this coming from their favorite musicians, they will feel even more sure of themselves in terms of “witnessing” their beliefs. Even youngsters who are naturally shy will not feel as shy in professing their own faith when they see their favorite bands wearing Christian t-shirts!

Another good thing about musicians wearing Christian t-shirts is that it is very different from other more mainstream bands and musicians who wear apparel that promotes themselves. Many of them are only interested in gaining an audience or making more sales for their albums. The bands who wear Christian t-shirts are clearly not doing that-- their choice of the clothing they perform in tells their audience that they are more interested in spreading the message about their faith than about promoting their albums. In doing this they are also letting their young fans know that their priority is about values.

Taking a cue from the youth of generations-past, today's Christian bands are making a strong statement about their faith by wearing Christian t-shirts. They are essentially providing their fans with the message “This is what we believe-- pass it on!”
