Missions Reaching Out to the Needy Need Support

Could you look a child in the eye and tell the child that they must suffer because the world is a cold, cruel place? You know that reality is not easy, but children don’t always get the right to choose what they want or what they need. Age is against them in some ways, not allowing them the maturity needed to hold a job to support themselves. Yet there are children of our world who do support themselves out of a struggle to survive. These children are robbed of much more than a normal childhood.

War, natural disasters, disease, accidents, and the economical conditions can all wreak havoc for many children and their families. There are missions that reach out to help children who are victims of all these things. These missions can’t operate without the generosity of others. Donations are crucial to their survival, both the survival of the missions and the survival of the victims of these harsh conditions.

All these things can cause children to lose limbs, organs, siblings, mental and emotional stability. An unexpected occurrence can turn a normal child into a wild animal, fearful and devastated, reaching for any little crumb of food or shelter they can find.

Our missions of the world touch these children, giving them a chance to survive and once again to learn to trust and live among others in peace. Street children, drug babies, abandoned youth, and those who are abused are only some of the reasons missions are needed.

Can you imagine a two year old that looks like an eight month old baby? Or perhaps a nine year old with his arms blown off? Malnutrition and war causes these things. What about the soldier who suffers through the same war? The suffering doesn’t end with the war. That soldier suffers often mentally and emotionally if he doesn’t suffer physically, long after the war has ended and he has reached home.

There are missions that help our soldiers as well as the children and families who were affected by the wars and other conditions of our world. There are also missions that help the families who lose soldiers to those wars.

All the missions around the globe need support. They are the needy helping the needy, if you will. There isn’t always a happy ending, and there will always be a need to be met. But as long as there are people willing to try and people willing to donate to make it possible, compassion and efforts are more than worthwhile and welcome.
