What you should know about public school and Christian clothing

There have been many recent measures to suppress Christianity in public schools. From the pledge of allegiance being stripped out of the typical morning regimen, to the blatant omission of creationism in the curriculum, public schools today are definitely becoming less and less faith friendly.

They claim it's all in the name of separation of church and state, but it is nevertheless causing a ripple throughout the student body. Ignorance breeds fear, and the fact most children can't tell a decent Christian person from a religious fanatic, can make your child a mark for ridicule if they wear Christian clothing to school.

Don't hide

Nevertheless, don't let that frighten you. You should be proud of the faith that has given you so much. Public schools shouldn't be allowed to say anything about Christian clothes, and if your child wishes to wear a faith statement to school, then you absolutely should let them. They might call it a “distraction” to the other students, or perhaps even offensive.

I say, people really should learn to be more tolerant others' choices! Christianity is right for you and your family, you know that God is always watching and eternally forgiving, giving His only son for the betterment of all. This is your way of life, you should live it proudly!

It will be difficult, but when were any of God's tests easy? Many of God's teachings come to us in our every day lives. When other students come to question your child about his or her faith, they may not be able to answer all of the questions right away – but that will only drive them to read the scriptures all the more.

Just in case

However, if it should become a pressing problem for your child to wear Christian clothes to school, you need to be prepared. Ask your children how the other students and teachers responded to their Christian attire that day, and keep a record. Then once it comes time to fight for your Constitutional and God-given right to worship your Lord and Savior, you will have a legal leg to stand on.

You can't pray for everything. God gave you the tools to make sure you and your family can worship without fear – use them. Of course, don't be a hypocrite and deny others their right to worship their own deity. You may believe they are going to hell, but that is their choice, and makes them happy. God also gave you the ability to be tolerant of others' choices.
