Where to Find Christian Clothing

With the separation of religion from pop culture today, it can be very difficult for Christians to locate Christian themed clothing on the general market. Stores such as Wal-Mart and Target, which proudly carried the WWJD bracelets when they were such a roaring hit among the younger population, carry many Christian themed items to appease that portion of the population but not enough that they will offend any other religious sectors. This means that while Christian jewelry and key chains are easy enough to come by, Christian clothing can be a whole other story.

Fortunately, there are still many options available to Christians who want to be able to show their faith on their clothing every time they step foot out of their house; after all, no one is ashamed to sport the name of their favorite athletic team on their tee shirts and hats, why should they have to be ashamed to bear the name of their Lord and Savior? It is necessary, however, to take a rather circuitous route to find what they desire.

First and foremost, almost any Christian bookstore in the country is going to carry religious clothing and jewelry. The founders of these establishments understand how hard it is for Christians to find ways to openly display their faith; many stores are far too concerned about the reputation they will earn if they are suspected of “trafficking” in religious merchandise. It could seriously impact their profit margin. For this reason, these stores carry not only books and jewelry, but shirts, hats and bags as well. These objects are professionally designed, and for reference sake, they make great gifts for friends, whether they be Christian or not (and if the answer is not, perhaps an article of Christian clothing will give them a nudge in the right direction).

If the customer in question is more creative than their department store shopping counterparts, there are a number of venues available to them. The purchase of fabric paint and a plain tee shirt can lead to an amazing creation, and there are hundreds of iron-on screens that are available for easy addition. The plain tees in question are available at any department or dollar store for a low price. If they do not wish to do the work themselves, an airbrush artist such as those working from mall kiosks come Christmas will happily take whatever image they have in their heads and turn it into a full color reality on the surface of a tee shirt. This is often more expensive than either buying the shirt pre-made or making it themselves, but the one of a kind results are well worth the expense.

Finally, there is the internet. The resources at the fingertips of the average web surfer are virtually limitless, and with the number of stores moving their business online in the hopes of expanding their customer base Christians can then use the same resources they would use to search for anything else on the net to find Christian themed clothing.

Despite the secularity of today’s society the practice of showing reverence to the Lord through one’s personal appearance has never waned in popularity, and it demonstrates to the world that true faith does not belong locked up in a church.
